Episode 8 of the Proximities podcast is now live.

This week, it’s a little different.

I’ve republished a discussion I had on the UK’s Novara Live show, which I regularly co-host, about the potential for a massacre in the Sudanese city of el-Obeid.

Fighters from the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) paramilitary group have the city surrounded and are already pounding it with drone attacks.

And due to the siege, the prices of food and other goods have gone up and there are shortages of electricity and clean drinking water.

We’ve been here before. Last year, the RSF massacred upwards of 70,000 people in the city of el-Fasher. It was predicted and we let it happen.

We can’t do that again.
