India
More than 200,000 cases of acute respiratory illness were recorded in six Delhi hospitals from 2022-2024, according to newly-released figures, as the Indian capital struggled with soaring pollution. According to a report from BBC last week, there has been a surge in children brought to hospitals in Delhi and its suburbs suffering from the effects of toxic air. The city’s high court will this week hear a petition calling for urgent measures to address the crisis.
