But the U.S. military, which has been waging a covert war in Somalia for decades, will not admit that a single civilian was killed that day.

Mohamed also discussed the background to Washington's decades-long war in the Horn of Africa, why it has stepped it up significantly over the last year, and the reasons why most Americans know so little about it.
